Title: 66 console rattle
Post by: KevinK on December 24, 2021, 05:09:06 PM
Working on a friends 66. Took it for a ride and noticed a buzz coming from the console shifter bezel. The rear edge seems to be unattached and just sitting in place. Any suggestions? I am not familiar with the 66 console.

Ok lets start down the list of possibilities

Does your shifter bezel have this thin small metal retainer at the rear edge? It slips below the plastic body of the console and is designed to clip into and hold the bezel firmly to the console but the attachment points can spread or even be pulled off if someone is not careful in the disassembly. Those are just stands (part of the bezel) that are pressed or rolled over to "mushroom" the tips
