I just came across what I believe is a factory original AM/FM radio for the 66 mustang. I bought it a couple of days ago off the web from Auto Parts Obsolete for $450.
I was going to send it in to Vintage Radio Restorations to be restored since they will replate chrome as well as the radio case (tin/cad plating?). There is an ink stamp on the bottom of the radio though next to the FoMoCo marking and I'm concerned about the replating removing this. With a rare radio like this, how much should I try to restore and what should I leave "as is"?
Here is a link to see pics of the radio: http://img37.imageshack.us/g/66fmradio1.jpg/

Probably be nice to try and preserve the date stamp. You will need to discuss that with whoever does the restoration.
