Title: 1" Sector Shaft Nut and Lock Washer Finish (aka pitman arm nut and lock washer)
Post by: Bossbill on August 25, 2021, 07:35:40 PM
The Assy Manual is being nebulous on finishes for the steering section so I begin to doubt the finishes for the nut and lock washer on the sector shaft for the pitman arm.
Note, my car has a 1" sector shaft, which is the topic on this thread)

Specified is -S for the lock washer and S100 for the nut.
I have various finishes on the washer and nut (due to various boxes around here). Not sure what goes on the Shelby. (We can move this thread if the 16:1 Shelby box is unique).

1 set = Plain -S for both.
1 set = Cad for both.

I have seen bare steel or light phosphate for both nut and lock washer.
on the 67. Others may have a different opinion.

Sounds reasonable, Bob.
The checklist gets smaller!
