I know there are topics in the history on this, however questioning if anyone has tried EVAPORUST for inside the fuel tank? Any pros or cons that might occur?
-
As long as you flush it well and then let it fully dry it should work. Of course the old bare rust surface will rerust since the process will not leave any protectant on the surfaces after the cleaning

I used it on a motorcycle tank with light rust, worked fine. After flushing out well, sloshed some fuel/oil mix inside. Did this about a year ago. Tank is still very clean.

Going to move the thread for a little more exposure and maybe more input since the subject applies to more than just a specific year Shelby

Once you use the evaporust you may want to put a length of heavy chain in the tank and roll it over and over to allow the chain to knock any debris loose. Flush and dry . I used a gas tank sealer sold by eastwood to seal the bare steel surface of the gas tank inside years ago however today what ever you use should be resistant to ethanol concentrations in your gas.

Bob, I just checked Eastwood for fuel tank sealer, all I see is Por 15 is that what you used?

No not what I used .It was 20 years ago. POR is most likely just as good and maybe even a better alternative the what I used . Product evolution is typically in the positive direction over time. Check for ethanol compatibility.

I did Evaporust and chain in my CA emissions tank. Did great but took a couple of weeks. Rick
