Title: 67 door courtesy light

Another user asked me if my door courtesy light had a label on the back.
I looked (see pic) and see gummy residue. I first thought it might be for gaffers tape to hold the harness in place but there are no voids where the wire would be. It's one solid 1" wide gummy area. That makes me think it was a label.

I've seen numerous used versions online and other than versions obviously cleaned, they all seem to have a gummy area. It doesn't appear to be for a service label as most of those were placed elsewhere and wrapped over to the front (in some cases).

Any pics of what was originally here?

Seems reasonable but I've never seen one.  Being exposed to moisture including carwashes in dry climates does not bode well for paper-based labels - making an assumption there.

No pictures in my stuff and don't recall ever seeing a label or know the reason one would have been applied to a factory installed one.

When I removed door lights it was just as common to find a part sticker as it was to find them without. As Jeff said not sure why the line would need a sticker but I have taken out dozens of these lights and my experience has been that the sticker is very common. Pulled this picture from a Google search.

This must be like the sticker applied to the side of the squirter pedal.

You will have to make a sticker to put on the outside saying that there is a sticker that can't be seen but it is there on the inside. ;) :D  -just couldn't resist the tease. ;D
