Title: OK tag found inside 67 door
Post by: Hipo giddyup on April 27, 2021, 01:27:33 PM
Curious of this finding. While removing the outer skin from a 67' door shell I found an OK tag wired to the inside frame near the internal hinge area. I'm guessing not a common occurrence and amazing the paper has survived so many years. Looks like a QC tag from the manufacturing plant??

Always neat to find. Appear these were attached to palletized parts - one tags were pallet. Possibly part of inventory control within the plant.  We find them not too often but on allot of different panels and parts. Sometimes they were torn off leaving only the light attaching wire and the round (often with the paper union label) paper protectant ring still there

There are also the "OK to Ship" styled ones that I think have been posted in some other threads here

Very interesting. I found a twisted pair of wires with a red paper circle (like in your photo) attached to the passenger-side rear apron.

I have wondered what was attached to those wires...this might be a possible answer.

I found a similar tag ring and wire on our 68 HCS floor pan. The fact that it has survived there for 53 years speaks to how dry southern Colorado is.
