What was the original finish on the trunk latch striker, the part bolted to the taillight panel?

What was the original assembly line finish on the front parking light retainers for San Jose March 66 built cars?

Silver, so cad or zinc has a similar look on stricker. Zinc Dichromate on the retainers.
