Title: 68 auto console shifter bezel installation

Quick question on installing my console on my gt350 auto. Does the shifter retaining plate install on top of the console or under it?

The retaining plate goes under the console. The bezel then goes on top clamping the console top between it and the retainer. There is a drawing of this in the Shelby assembly manual. You would find it helpful in the reassembly of your car.

That’s what I thought but just wanted to double check. I do have the Shelby assembly manual.
