I obtained a excellent deluxe steering wheel, which I would like to install in my 67 that has the deluxe interior but a standard steering wheel.
Before I jump into this,is it a simple swap, or is it more involved than that.
-
Yes, this can be a simple swap ; that is if you have all of the special additional parts that are required for the Deluxe Steering Wheel that are either different or not required for the Standard Steering Wheel. Hopefully, you received all of them with the Steering Wheel itself ?
Illustrations of both are attached.

A picture of what you DO HAVE could help...there are some pieces that only original parts will help you. Other pieces (at times) might be available aftermarket.

Bob,
I think the third picture is 65-66 only. The number ID in the lower corner, P-4955 is reference on the 65-66 drawing.

Jim : I agree with you. I "grabbed" it right out of the "1967 Only" MPC, and didn't really check it, just incorrectly assuming that it was 1967. After you brought it up, I looked at my "1966 Only" MPC, and sure enough, same exact illustration. Just another case of Ford grabbing a previous drawing without checking the details.
I'll go back and remove it to avoid any confusion. If someone comes up with documentation of 1966 Deluxe Wheel and components being used in 1967, we can address it then.
Thanks for catching this.

Referring to the second Illustration I previously Posted, following are the complete Service Part Numbers of those parts that are different from, or in addition to those for the "Standard" (non-Wood Grain) Steering Wheel.
If a part on the Illustration is not listed below, it is either the same as the non-Wood Grain Steering Wheel, or in the case of 13A848, it was not available as a Service Part.
