I am hoping the rebuild of my front disc brake calipers will solve my weak braking problems. I see two options for repair. I was going to buy the $125.95 for each wheel NPD rebuild kit. https://www.npdlink.com/search/products?search_terms=1967%2Bcaliper%2Brebuild&top_parent=200001&year=
I also see a reman caliper, if they are in stock, at CJ's for $175.99 each which includes a new crossover tube. https://www.cjponyparts.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=+1967+front+caliper
Difference is $50 per wheel, but the rebuild is professionally done with clean bore and piston. Has anyone used these reman brake calipers before? Thanks.

no but from what i gather you should avoid cj's and consider another vendor. npd is a great choice and the owner participates here.

I would buy the kits from NPD. Don't buy NOS. They are always dried out and you'll wind up cutting the square ring when you put the pistons in.
Be sure to check for rust in the piston bores. There is a trick to getting them in. You know how to get a hold of me if you want instruction. I cut a couple seals the last time I rebuild a set. It's very easy to do and you also have to install the boots, which also commonly get rust in them.

There's no need to send them out. They're simple to do. There is just a couple tricks.
Because you have a Shelby and you'll probably want them done correctly contact Jim Cowles on the SAAC forum. He's fair and all the finishes are concours.

I have been keeping an eye out for 67 calipers and rotors to complete the disc brake conversion kit, I have been piecing together. All of the parts conversations have been very helpful.
I have noticed some parts are drying up for other models so I started to look around for the 67 mustang calipers. Prices have been starting to go up and many are out of stock. I found rebuilt calipers at Orielly’s with minimum core charge and a seasonal discount which got the price down to just over $100. Each for rebuilt. They are probably not Ford but they are very nice. I would say they look new. Plated castings and stainless hardware. I’m pretty happy with them.

FYI the outside half was ether plated silver or painted with silver paint from the factory . The inside half was cast iron finish. Not that it probably matters in this case but I just wanted that info out here so no one gets the wrong idea.
