Title: Found these in my 68. Any ideas

Apologies if this isn’t the right forum since this may reach across different years. Two of there were found installed in the rear seat floorboard over the axle. I assume this the remnants of an old air ride system. Anyone seen something like this?

Recognize (familiar looking only) it from the lower picture but not factory but believe you know that
