In the Marcus Anghels' latest reference Guide on Upper Control Arms he notes that no one builds a good copy of the original Ford upper ball joint. The originals are tough to find, so I have looked at Moog and others.
But as Marcus notes, they don't look quite the same with the major issue being the lack of tabs that hold the originals together.
Has anyone seen or installed the Dennis Carpenter upper ball joints? The part that contains the zerk doesn't look right, but you can hardly see it hidden in the confines of the upper arm pocket. But it appears this ball joint does have the tabs, which are visible.

It should be noted the originals never had bolts at all (except the original service replacement kits).
