Hello, Hoping somebody can tell me how to cut the trunk matting for my 66 Shelby. I understand they're cut in some way underneath the spare tire. Does anybody happen to have photos?
Thanks!

First welcome to the site.
What are you starting with as far as a mat? Do you have a 65 original or one of the reproductions?
In the meantime I'll dig out some pictures and post
Again - welcome

thank you for the welcome! I'm certain it's a reproduction. When I get home I'll take a photo of what I've got. Thank you so much for the quick reply.

Here is a couple of shots of a NOS/Service replacement showing the passenger side where we find the difference between 65 and 66's
Difficult to find originals still in cars and not torn or modified. Just not easy to see because most cars still have their spare tires in place

Thank you Jeff!
The photo is great. From your first sentence, can you confirm this is a 66? What’s the difference on a 65?

The purpose of the question in my first post is that often owners will be cutting or altering a 65 into a typical 66 version by removing a section from the passenger side of the mat
Yes the NOS is a 66 version. The difference is the section under the spare tire area - not sure why the change. In the 65 the mat comes up the side of the passenger trunk floor and onto the top from front to the back edge with a cut out for the spare tire retaining bracket - either version used in 65. In 66 this are was deleted leaving the mat with a small floppy section of the mat forward of the spare that travels up the side and onto the top of the trunk floor section
