Looking for a 1964 1/2 A/C idler and bracket for a 289 with power steering. Had factory air and evidently the compressor locked up and they took the belt off along with the idler and bracket. Car has the original generator. Where can I purchase this part? or does anyone know the part number that I can search for? or any sketches or diagrams that I could have one machined? Looks to be a hard to find part. Thanks in advance!

I can post the diagram and install instructions later this week, out of town now.

I've searched all over the Internet too, including Craig's List with people parting out old Mustangs. I'm starting to think the best bet would be to fabricate the bracket and pulley if I could get exact dimensions. Can you let me know if you find a good source?

For 1965 (64-1/2) Mustangs with 289, A/C and Generators, the 1960-68 Ford Master Parts Catalog (MPC) shows that the idler pulley assembly, either with or without PS, is Part # C3AZ-8678-B.
This same idler pulley assembly is also shown to be used on 1963-64 Fairlanes with A/C and 221, 260 and 289 engines, 1960 Falcons with 260 engines, and 1963-64 Full Size Fords with A/C and 260 and 289 engines. The pulley on the idler assembly is cast iron.
This should provide a lot of sources for what you need.
Hope this helps.
