Title: Original 65 HiPo Front and Rear Shock Rebuild
Post by: Snydly289 on February 13, 2019, 01:08:03 AM
Question for everyone, is there a company or individual that anyone would recommend for rebuilding my original K code fastback handling package front and rear shock absorbers? Or is it even worth it to be honest? I have contemplated installing Koni shocks on the Kar. My HiPo Fastback was build October of 64.

The front shocks have a FoMoCo logo and Gabrial logo?
C5ZF-18045-B
Date coded: C4HA

Rears also have the FoMoCo logo as well as the Gabrial logo?
C4ZF-18080-C
Date coded: 4FD

Can anyone also help out with decoding the dates printed on the shocks?

On a side note, one of the studs where the shock mounts to the rear shock plates was cut off flush with a Sawzall, shown in one of the photos. The nut was horribly rounded off by the previous owner and was so rusty it was impossible to get off (even with a butane torch) sadly leaving the Sawzall as my only option. Is a new mounting stud easily welded to the base of the shock or is that a pipe dream?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-1967-1968-1969-1970-Shelby-Mustang-Shocks-shocks-66-67-68-69-70-Boss/222271837659  . This the guy everyone uses . I think typically it is about 400.00 a shock to rebuild . Dan Patch is his name.

Looks like

Fronts were made Oct 1964
Rears were made June 1964
