Hi folks,
I am thinking about to renew my 64 1/2 white interior (paint / seat covers / door panels). Can someone show me the differences in 64 and 65 white interior? NPD and others just sells the 65 white spray and 65 white seat covers / door panels. Are they the same for early 65 and just a brighter white paint was used?
Enclosed is pic of my actual white interior...
Thanks for more info on that.

64.5 was more of a cream white, the 65 version was brighter white with pearl hues. Went through this when I restored the 65 K convertible, found NOS white vinyl and had covers made. For the 64.5 pace car, the cream white color repro covers were a close match to originals.
BTW, your seat covers are not original.

Thanks Charles for your input. So the current white is not that bad for my car?
Concerning the seat covers, I think Ray replaced them when he restored the car. NOS ones are very hard to find and would not be appropriate in my opinion for a "sunny weekend driver" :)

I don't remember who makes what, but it's either TMI that has the brighter 65 style and Distinctive has the earlier 64.5 cream white.
Can't tell from your pic which seat covers you have, but the door panels look like the cream white style.
The interior paint color was different also...

How different? Also more in the direction of cream white or off white?
Thanks a lot,
Michael

Matches closer to the cream white. Had original paint matched when I did the pace car coupe. It was way different than the normal 65 white

i'm very interested in seeing your work for the 64.5 pace car. Do you have a page with photos of the it?
-
I don't have anything like that. It is supposed to go in the Mustang Museum sometime soon and be there for the opening.

I did some research concerning TMI & Distinctive interior products. I still don't know which white is more correct for 64.5. Both seem to have the same "2290" color code. Anyone has more information on this?
-
TMI on the left is more cream. Distinctive on the right is whiter. Both have a pearlescent content to them.

Scott

Thanks a lot Scott for the info. The TMI set will match the 64.5 white perfectly.
