Hello,
I recently pick up an original Autolite Voltage Regulator, but now I am questioning myself on its application.
What is concerning me is it is marked 15V. Would this have been used on a highly optioned car, or for a 428, or??
Is there any documentation concerning Voltage Regulators and their markings?

The yellow stamped C8TF regulator is typically paired with a 55 amp alternator on a 68-70 Mustang. The silver C8AF silver stamped regulator is typically paired with a 38-42 amp alternator. The Alternator amperage has to do with options or accessories . So depending on Alt will determine typical assemblyline regulator. The 55 amp typically for AC or big battery 38/42 amp alternator typical for base equipped car . It is interesting to note that back in the day if you went to the Ford dealer the replacement regulator would be the yellow stamped C8TF (after 67) regardless of what assemblyline alternator. Less inventory to have on the shelves apparently. The C8TF yellow stamp will work on ether amp alternator it just isn't assemblyline correct for all.
