Title: 1965 gas tank mat

Did the '65 San Jose built cars leave the car with a mat of some type over the gas tank?......or just the plaid cover material?

I think there is a possibility (have not studied the subject in depth or done a data survey as of yet) that certain cars received a pad over just the gas tank like we find in other years while some did not. May be related to either a time period or deluxe vs standard interior packages at San Jose and other plants

If your talking about the insulation on top of the gas tank under the trunk mat, I believe it was a convertible thing.
