Title: Autolite 4100 Carb for rebuild?
Post by: rcgt350 on March 07, 2016, 01:17:08 AM
I have an early C5ZF-C 4100 Carb. Who would be a good source to have it restored properly?
Thanks, Randy

Here's a picture of mine, as rebuilt by Kurt Praxil. For those who may not be aware, Kurt worked at Pony Carburetors before he started KP Carbs.

I've had Kurt do one for me also. It does indeed "present well" but in my humble opinion, not 100% truly "concours" in the truest of appearance.

This is a different carb but my point is about Kurt, he is very accommodating and easy to work with. I am very happy with his work and quick turnaround.

He does do nice work however wish he would offer an option to NOT glass bead the Autolite housing and use a different method to clean it. I suppose this is less important for Holley's which don't need to retain a factory cast aluminum appearance other than the base. Also in the picture mjd 65 posted, you can see the steel plugs also took a glass bead hit. Those can be corrected without too much effort but the original aluminum housing look...?? :-\
