Hi All,
I was cleaning up some nozzles from a May 65 SJ car and ran across something I did not expect. I used Blue Magic metal polish pretty lightly to clean 50 years of dirt and grime expecting to see a zinc coating. What I found instead appears to be copper. I'm not sure if that is the original surface or if my metal polish removed the silver color and left the next layer under. Any ideas? I did a search on this site and on line but can find no reference to a copper finish. If you look at the attached picture you can see the color and also a very interesting twist at the nozzle tip. I had not seen that twist before either.
Thanks.

I believe the metal polish removed your zinc plating.

Agree, the zinc plating would have been over the copper.
