'65 V8 intake temp sender reducer
« on: January 15, 2014, 03:18:56 PM »
Does anyone know a source for the intake temp sensor reducer on a '65 V8?  The bigger temp senders weren't used until later in the year.  I have an April '65 A code I'm working on and the intake had the reducer removed.

The originals wouldn't have the hex top.  It's a pipe fitting thread.  Thanks for checking though.

I don't mean to get off topic but would having/not having this reducer affect temp gauge readings?  Or would this be one of the negative effects of repro gauges?

Charles - The part is a "face bushing" 1/8 female pipe to 3/8 male pipe.  It's an odd size.  Believe it or not you can get one through Amazon.com.  http://www.amazon.com/Lead-Free-Fitting-Bushing-Female/dp/B003TWP2KO

Thanks for the info, found some steel ones like original online.  Min order of $15, so had to buy about 25 of them, lol.  Hope they fit!

April '65 A code.... same as mine.  ;)

Is this the part you are talking about and does it look correct?  Looks like brass?

Yes, that's it.  You're right about it being brass, had a mental image of them being steel.
