Unrestored 67 Dearborn C code Coupe
« on: August 14, 2013, 07:57:33 PM »
Found an unrestored coupe 7F01C129***.  Other than exterior décor, with wheel covers it appears to be "plain Jane" from afar.  Upon further inspection, it has...
  • Exterior Décor (already mentioned)
  • Interior Décor 5U Parchment comfort weave
  • Tilt
  • Deluxe steering wheel
  • Air conditioning
  • Upper console
  • Lower console
  • AM radio
  • Convenience Control
  • Visibility Group
  • Power Steering
  • Power Disc Brakes
  • Clock
  • Genuine Michigan Rust

For Genuine Michigan Rust, for those of you that remember Mr. Haney from Green Acres say "genuine" with his accent.

Build date 03Dec. DSO 89

I'll be headed back with a "good" camera and see if I can match Jeff's "600 picture" target.  Here are some that might spark interest:

(1) AC condenser coil with the "holes" in the straps that I think Bob Gaines talked about on Friday night in Indianapolis.
(2) AC rotating equipment.  This is a 289 C code, revision level "14".  Interestingly there was no temperature switch that changed vacuum routing to increase speed at idle.  But that was a TSB if I remember, not a recall.
(3) Back of IP, "322" rotation number?
(4) Hood by this time had the holes to route the turn signal wiring.  Turn signals lamp housings had the retaining clamps.
(5) Is the manual valve in the PVC aftermarket or added with AC?
(6) Wood wheel in a tilt application.  I've heard that some parts might be different, but need to measure.
(7) emergency flasher switch and cover.
( 8 ) center pad 4-3/8" deep.  the standard one is 3-3/4" deep.

Any requests for close ups?

I should add that this was found in the metro Detroit area, was stored on a concrete pad outside under a tarp for over 20 years.  Folding up like an accordion due to rust.  Mice infested.

(3) Back of IP, "322" rotation number?

Good possibility  - Check the front of the radiator support of front cross member to see if its also there

(5) Is the manual valve in the PVC aftermarket or added with AC?

Idle compensator - original (in the early years) for AC cars

( 8 ) center pad 4-3/8" deep.  the standard one is 3-3/4" deep.

Interesting - didn't know there were two different steering center bumpers

Thanks for sharing

"Good possibility  - Check the front of the radiator support of front cross member to see if its also there"

Unfortunately the "R" word that rhymes with must has taken its toll.  There is a fist size hole where the number would most likely have been.

Here are some additional pictures that might pique interest:

(1) C7ZE belt on AC compressor. Not claiming factory originality, but it makes me wonder.
(2) Vacuum lines for AC plus tilt application, with markings for clarity
(3) Hood hinge shim. Never saw that before.
(4) Spark plug wire - about half are Autolite, other half aftermarket.  Not claiming originality.
(5) "E" sticker plus outline for a second sticker nearby, on back side of shock tower by the MC
(6) vacuum canister, short line, and check valve.  Check valve is single input and single output in terms of ports.
(7) battery tray has no sign of holes for secondary canister for tilt.  The large canister below hinge had line through FW under dash.  From there a "TEE" split the line to AC and tilt mechanism.

Did this car get parted out? There may be some areas of interest for me on it.
