1970 Power steering control valve assembly-restored.

May 15, 1970 Dearborn B2

Would someone please post a picture of a correctly restored power steering control valve assembly?

Also I have seen in some vendor catalogs showing a  a Power steering hose protector sleeve, that is on cars with P/S oil coolers. I never noticed this. Can you please share a picture of that as well?

Thanks again,

Tony

Will find some pictures (hope I too some of a restored valve)

Pretty basic - look at the material of each piece - cast steel, cut plate steel, cast aluminum. Finish each as bare metal  (paying attention to the machined surfaces)  and put it together. Cap will have a date code on the end (exterior) at the very end.

Sorry no restored pictures - here are some original ones. Only word of warning the thin sheet metal cover over the ball stud seal is currently believed to have been bare steel not dichromate on originals

Hope this helps

Thanks these pics are good. Also on your comment about the metal shield,  on my original one there was no sign of dichromate anywhere.

I understand the spiral metal protector on the hose, but was there also  a sponge rubber insulator somewhere on one of the  hoses?

see this item here at NPD: http://www.npdlink.com/store/products/sleeve_power_steering_hose_protector_oil_resistant_sponge_rubber-147048-0.html

Thanks,
Tony
