Unrestored - 67 GT A Code NJ Coupe
« on: September 21, 2012, 01:22:00 PM »
I just posted a several pictures on our Blog of a 1967 Mustang GT Coupe.  It is a low mileage car and is rather unique.  Take a look here.

Very Cool Brant! Thanks for taking the time to take the photos. I would love to spend a few hours with it.

Neat!  Lots of cool details.

I thought the molded logo headlights were mainly on earlier cars?  I'm pretty sure 68 NJ cars got the etched headlights. Is this one of those 'supplier' issues meaning there is no firm time frame of which cars got what?

Being this is a 12,000 mile car I would guess they are original.

Thanks for sharing!  :)

The molded headlights were just a detail of that particular MFG which was Westinghouse. There seems to be evidence for their use at a variety of plants through the years. The only pattern that I can see seems to be is that they appear to be used in smaller amounts compared to GE and Tung Sol. I have seen them on early cars and later cars .

I would guess that headlight is original.  The other one looked like it had been replaced (no logo.)  I was a bit surprised to see it to, but I guess they went through a lot of headlights building all those cars! :)  Anyway, I love cars like this.  There is so much to learn from them.  It's really too bad that the Ziebart treatment was done when it was new.  Everything is covered underneath.

Just came across this today...the Buck tag states 326 and the heater plenum has what appears to be a hand written 327.

Does it look like two different screws holding the head light door in place - flat head and oval????

Very cool vehicle for me to reference considering the two NJ 67's I am working on - thank you for this site and thank you for sharing Brant.

In my experience its not unusual for the second rotation number and the number hand written on the plenum not to match though we would expect that it (the one on the plenum) would be a rotation number and match.

Not sure of a good solid explanation at this point
