Wondering if anyone may have a 65 San Jose firewall pad in reasonable condition
Firewall pads for San Jose cars have a dimpled surface
Car is manual transmission and doesn't have aircon
Thanks

Jim Cowles at Shelby parts and restoration had a SJ firewall pad recently on ebay that didn't sell.  I think it bid up to 240 .00 something. It was in excellent excellent condition. He knows what it is worth. They are very sought after especially given the distinct appearance of a SJ mat and the dismal alternative of the terrible repro ones . I had a friend give 500.00 for one a few months back as nice as the ebay one because he was building a high profile car. Bob

Consider that there is an early and late version of the firewall pads.  One has the vertical configuration for A/C hoses with a rectangular punch-out whereas the later version as the oval punch-out that's horizontal/diagonal configuration.  I've found the changeover to be somewhere around Feb/March of '65.

Just for info - but have found very very early cars  (San Jose ) used a firewall pad with a different surface pattern

Charles,
To add to your observations, I have seen some early (Nov-Dec '64) San Jose cars with no knock out at all.

My late March '65 and June '65 San Jose cars have the vertical rectangular knock out like below.
