Not sure why it took so long to post this collection and discussion of a running change. As usual keep the examples to this year and plant. Will conduct others as time passes so that we can help others. Though this change also included and related to other supporting changes we're, for this discussion, focusing on just the wiper posts
Projected/scheduled build date and VIN are the key points - along with the wiper post style of course. If you have a worry of posting your full VIN "x" out the last two so that we can organized the reports and findings. Thanks
The two examples of wipers were ones with the stationary bezels (early) around the base and those with no bezels (late). Examples of both shown below
Early
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Late
After receiving input, data points and going through my collect and placing hundreds of findings on a spread sheet I offer the following conclusion. Of course, since we don't know the exact day each of these examples were built we can only identify a range. Had a few likely false positives and as often happens they were restored Shelby examples so those orphans were not included in the final findings. Hope this helps us understand better the cars we love and spend so much time on.
- Highest VIN with the early style - bezel and nut - 5R21416x
- Lowest VIN found with the later style - 5R21765x
