Topic: Water Pump

Can anyone tell me if this is an original water pump cast in 1965 or if the is factory replacement cast at a different time?  Is the FOMOCO stamp correct for a 1965 June thru August casting?

According to Mannel's "Small Block V8" book the switch from aluminum to cast iron water pumps was part of the level 8 engine version in June 1965.  The water pump in your picture looks correct to me.

You might want to provide a picture of the impeller also.

So not to get too far off the topic but if a car had an early June build date, say the first week, the motor I assume would have been assembled sometime in late April to May.  Would these engines of had the cast iron water pump or were they still using the aluminum one?

It's the engine assembly date that is the key, not the car scheduled date. Ford would, in many cases, use up existing inventory then make a change over. This may or may not have been what happened in this case, but was directly related to Change Level 8, which would have been stamped on the the metal engine tag. Mannel gives a range of "May 65 - August 65" (Appendix A pg which is rather wide.

Just for comparison and a data point do have documentation of a 5E27 assembled engine that was labeled as having the Level 8 improvement  in your VIN range Chris
