Does anyone know of a source for the correct black metal dash paint, in a rattle can, for a 1969 Eliminator? Thanks, Chuck

For a "Black" interior its really Dark Charcoal Metallic

Been discussed here a number of times. Strip to bare metal, apply a couple of full (but not heavy) coats of a base of semi-gloss black then over coat that (the produce is very translucent and covers poorly) with a couple of somewhat dry coats of the Charcoal. Any of the Mustang shops and Cougar shops should be able to supply you with both. The dash pad extension panels will be a slightly flatter in finish items if you want to get real detailed

If you don't strip off the old coats. The texture will fill :(

If you put on too much paint - the texture will be filled and you will loose that details :(

If you put too much Charcoal on the final look will be glossy and smooth - not what you want.

Search is your friend ;) Just a few that came up with using "Dark Charcoal Metallic "

Do not mix your paint types. Example, the Dark Charcoal Metallic sold by NPD is a lacquer paint. If you use this, make sure you use a lacquer base.

Lacquer is a good type of paint to use in this application as it goes on and dries very thin, and does not fill in the texture as an enamel will.
Accurate looking but not a Concours Restoration/build. See my build photo gallery at 69GT350 Hertz Build

Thanks for the info and links. I guess I didn't use the right terms when I searched. Chuck
