Is there a source for carter fuel pump part/ engineering numbers.  Looking for the correct pump for a 66 390S code.

Yes the Master Parts Catalog (MPC) that covers that year

Fuel pump would depend on the car model that the engine was installed in. Don't have  Merc MPC but Ford shows four different versions based on body type (doesn't identify 2v or 4v)

Best guess I can provide without any additional info would be the following that is listed as being used on Mustangs and Cougars in 67 (under the GT identifier)  as well as some 66 Fairlanes and big 66 Fords. The latter with 352 & 390

Part number - C6AZ-9350-B
Carter part number and stamped on mounting flange side  - 4194-S

Thanks for the information. Does a 3909-S show up anywhere.

Shows up in the April 68 MPC  as C3AZ-9350-R (at that time it had already been replaced by the -U)

Applications show big Ford (like LTD, Custon, Galaxie) in 63 and 64 with 352 & 390 and 66 Fairlanes  with 390 and with body codes of 63D (Galaxie 7 Litre 2 door hardtop)  & 76D  (Galaxie 7 Litre convertible)

Sorry doesn't say if application is for 2V or 4 V and don't know those cars well enough to know what engines were available in those to 66 Galaxie's

Here are a few pictures of the pump mentioned below. These were used on 67- 69 I believe S code Mustang, Cougars, Torino's Fairlanes and others

Part number - C6AZ-9350-B
Carter part number and stamped on mounting flange side  - 4194-S

In a Carter box rather than Autolite
